The Furries of Whisppy … Cosmo, Ling, Meow-Me, Boomer, Felix, Tutu & Coco
We have quite an interesting group of felines to interview today, the Furries of Whisppy. So without further ado, we’d like to introduce Cosmo, Ling, Meow-Me, Felix, Boomer, Coco and Tutu. And the honorary eighth furry (that woofs) that started it all.
Funny Farmer Felines: Would you introduce yourselves, your mom and family to readers?
Cosmo: We live with our Mommy and Daddy, our woofie sisfur Whisky, our piggy brofurs Curly and Pok and our tortoise sisshell Dino. And then there’s the SEVEN of US!
While Mommy had always wanted kitties, Daddy was adamant that he didn’t want cats because apparently he didn’t “like” cats. (Can you imagine!?) Well, on August 2, 2008, that changed when Mommy found us (Ling and I) huddled in a drain by the playground while walking Whisky.
Ling: She brought us to the vet, sent a SMS to Daddy to say she found 2 kittens – and Daddy’s reply? YOU MUST BE JOKING. So sh…..
Cosmo: Why would Mommy joke about such a happy event? Jeez.
Ling: Quiet, Cosmo! So, as I was saying, she sent him a picture of us. When Daddy got home, I went to work immediately and charmed Daddy by hissing at him. We looked really miserable since we were just frontlined and our furs were sticking out in all directions.
Cosmo : You sure did get Daddy’s attention! He spent the evening watching us watch him from the corner of the cage, and then declared, “Since they found us, we should keep them.” SCORE!
Meow-Me: All it took was a can of tuna and I found myself in a carrier in November 2010. 2 weeks later, I had my babies, Coco and Felix.
Felix & Coco: But things didn’t work out as Mommy planned, so we ended up staying, much to Daddy’s horror! And all Daddy could do was say, no more cats, okay? Heh heh.
Boomer: One day in April 2011, I found myself cornered by this white furry creature and everything after that was a blur. I refused to leave this place and after months of denial by Daddy, I was finally accepted into the family. Daddy said to Mommy, “No more after this, promise?”
Tutu: Hours after I was born in January 2012, someone put me in a box and threw me in the garbage. Long story short, Mommycat took over from the lady who found me and here I am today! Mommycat is looking for a good family to adopt me but until that happens…you’ll see lots of me!
Funny Farmer Felines:You mentioned something about Whisky the woofie being responsible for this blog. We’d love to hear that story.
Ling: Many years ago, Mommy made a promise to Whisky and Looppy (bunny) that she’d quit her job, set up a company called WHISPPY and groom pets for a living so she could have them with her during work.
Cosmo: Sadly, Looppy passed away before this could materialize. When Mommy finally realized her dream of WHISPPY, she also started the WHISPPY blog to write about Whisky and the business. But it was also around that time that us kitties started appearing.
Boomer: And as is with kitties, we took over the blog! MOL. WHISPPY would never have happened had it not been for Whisky and Looppy. And without WHISPPY, there wouldn’t be the Kitties of WHISPPY!
Funny Farmer Felines:You have a mix of kitties, rabbits, Whisky the dog and guinea pigs. How do you all get along?
Cosmo: Whisky, Ling and I have free run of the house. The pigs stay in their enclosure, Dino goes outside for walks and back indoors at night. Unfortunately, our last bunny brofur, Bernie left for the Bridge in November 2012.
Meow-Me: The rest of us stay in cages but don’t worry, we get lots and lots of outside time within the cat boarding area and the catio.
Tutu: I am very close to Mommycat so I get to follow her everywhere when she is home (which is most of the time). Otherwise, I have to stay in the cage because she thinks I’ll get myself into trouble. Hrrrummpf.
Boomer: While we all get along pretty well (we play together, even with Whisky), Mommy has this arrangement set up or we’ll all take turns to bug Whisky and give Mommy more white hair. HAHA!
Funny Farmer Felines: We assume when you say, “some of us live in cages,” you are referring to the rabbits and guinea pigs. Would you tell us about this exercise area you call the catio? It sounds like a fun place for all of you.
Tutu: The catio idea came about after my illness and the vet said I should get more natural sunlight.
Boomer: Mommy told Grandpa about it and after getting ideas and measurements, Grandpa got to work!
Meow-Me: Several days later, it was ready! It took a little time, but eventually all of us were enjoying the catio.
Coco: Mommy even made a small perch for the Tupai (like but not squirrels) to eat so we could have Tupai Channel.
Felix: Oh, and Grandma later sewed us the hammock and had it hung right at the top! It took a little while but I finally summed up the nerve to climb into the hammock. It’s really high!
Funny Farmer Felines: Our human is probably the only human who is not big on nicknames, so we’re sure all you have some. What nicknames does your mom embarrass you with?
Meow-Me: It’s so embarrassing when Mommy calls us by our nicknames while we are lounging at the catio. The neighbours can hear! Sheesh. We have MingMing (Cosmo), Ah Boooo (Ling), Fat Me AW (me!), Cocopi (Coco), Ah Pee (Felix), MerMi (Boomer) and Putupi (Tutu).
Felix: Aren’t they Cod Awful? Why Ah PEE? I can assure you it has no relation to PEE as we know it.
Funny Farmer Felines: Do any of you have a special ladycat or mancat in your life or are you playing the field?
Boomer: My heart is only for my ONE special ladycat, Katie Isabella.
Ling: The rest of us are still available, though Tutu does have a little flirty fling going with Spitty.
Coco & Felix: We LOVE our Mamacat so we say Meow-Me is OUR special ladycat. Does that count?
Funny Farmer Felines: What is your favorite color …. treat …. toy?
Cosmo: Favorite color? Brown! Since that color seem to relate to nommy food!
Meow-Me: Errr, Cosmo…not everything brown is nommy.
Tutu: Don’t forget green. Green veggies, real or fake, are super nommy too!
Boomer: Favorite treat. This is easy and we all agree that Mommy’s Homemade Chicken Jerky is our favorite treat! Well, of course there’s also those terribly difficult to obtain Freeze Dried Chicken Treats. We have to save our allowance to get it from the USA, which means Mommy rations it as if we were at war. Hrrrummpfff.
Ling: Favorite toy? We can’t agree on a favorite toy so here are our individual answers! My favorite toy are those funny looking headbands that have balls on springs. They are super fun to toss about!
Cosmo: The Cat Catcher! The way it wiggles about on the floor really captures my attention!
Meow-Me: Mice. When I have them in my mouth, I get the overwhelming desire to sing!
Coco: The Green Eyed Laser Monster. It gets my heart all lighted up and I forget all my worries
Felix: Scrunched up paper is my favourite. I can play with it for hours…until it’s all soggy
Boomer: Da Bird makes my heart go a-fluttering and the Silvervine Pillow makes me all light headed. MOL.
Tutu: EVERYTHING I can get my paws on!
Funny Farmer Felines: Mischief is more fun when you have a partner in crime…. um, we mean a partner in play. What kind of mischief do you get into, either separately or together?
Tutu: Apparently, I am full of mischief. I don’t get it. I help with dishwashing, I fluff up towels, I taste test everything to make sure they are edible, I trim her plants, I draw maps on her arms so she doesn’t get lost, I help everyone finish their meals…. And for all my help, I get called mischievous. *HISS*
Boomer: I usually play with Felix because he is fun! The girls don’t like to wrassle.
Coco: That’s because you weigh a ton!
Funny Farmer Felines: Do you belong to any clubs or groups?
Cosmo and Ling We are members of the Tabby Cat Club, the best club ever! There are lots of fun activities, though we aren’t always able to participate because Mommy is….IMPOSSIBLE. We should have asked Santa for a whip.
Meow-Me, Coco, Felix, Boomer: We joined the Strawberry Nose Club, which is a club through Facebook. There are no activities to participate in but they make such cute badges.
Tutu: Is there a Tortie Mischief Club I can join? Or maybe I can be a Cat From Hell?
Funny Farmer Felines: Does your mom help you participate in any of the blogging events, such as Talk like a pirate day, LiveStrong, Box Day, etc?
Cosmo: We do try to participate, but it’s a mammoth task trying to get Mommy to cooperate. She says between looking after the bunch of us and the cats that come for boarding / grooming, she hardly has time for anything else.
Ling: PLUS, she has yet to learn how to do graphics on Photoshop. The last time she tried, she ended up with a stiff shoulder.
Tutu: I even tried to show her how it’s done by drawing on the tablet and all I got from her was ungrateful shouting.
Funny Farmer Felines: Do you have any special plans for the future of your blog?
Coco: We hope to keep our friends entertained with our antics and stories!
Funny Farmer Felines: What do you like and dislike about blogging?
Boomer: We love the friends we have made through blogging. It’s really great to have friends who have the same interest (taking over the household!) and also to share our experiences with each other.
Ling: A big dislike is when we read about our friends leaving for the Bridge or who are ill or any other sad events affecting our friends. But being in the blogging world means there is a lot of love and support we get from each other during such times.
Funny Farmer Felines: You’ve been blogging since 2010. What advice would you give to anyone just starting a blog?
Cosmo: Visit, VISIT, VISIT! You could start by visiting one blog, then visit the blogs that leave comments there and so on. Make sure you leave comments too, as this is one way of letting people know about your blog’s existence.
Tutu: Oh, and try to make your blog content light, easy and most of all, FUN!
All: Thank you so much for interviewing us. We had a great time! Mommy said since we sat through the interview without much squabbling, we’re going to get treats as a reward! YEAH!
Funny Farmer Felines. You were all great, so we agree with your mom. We didn’t squabble either. Do you think she’d notice if we joined the treat line too?
You can meet all the furries of Whisppy on their blog Whisppy, so be sure to stop by and introduce yourselves if you haven’t met before or say howdy if you’re old friends.
