Resolve Not to Buy Cheap Crap from China: 13 Etsy Shops for Cat Lovers

If you haven’t completed your New Year’s resolutions yet (mine usually aren’t done until mid-August), how about resolving not to buy cheap crap from China and insteaed, patronize crafters who put love and care into everything they make. To that end, we’ve put together 13 Etsy shops that cat lovers should favorite.

Wrapt Cats is the go-to shop for sheep’s wool throws, beds and toys for your cat. Each is hand-crafted with love in the memory of Jesse who was born a barn cat and grew to be a once-in-a-lifetime feline companion. Jesse loved sleeping on wool sweaters, thus the inspiration for this cozy line.

 

Messymai produces art prints and other designs, most of which feature cats. The print above features a cat only tangentially, but it cracks me up, so I put it in. Here’s one of her cat brooches:

Her quirky designs always guarantee a smile.

Fatty B offers one-of-a-kind pet beds that function as standalone works of art.

Woolin Legends produces felted creatures — a lot of them cats — created from their own sheep’s wool. Shop owner Martha Fletcher is the author of Making Simple Felted Jewelry.

Has your cat joined the Shriners and needs a fez so he can ride in parades in one of those tiny cars and honk those annoying horns? Sarabi Rose makes tiny crocheted cat hats that must be seen to be appreciated. (Even so, your cat might not appreciate having to wear one.)

Feel like breading your cat but don’t want to deal with the crumbs? Here’s the crocheted answer. Yummy Pancake doesn’t offer a lot of cat items in her shop, but I couldn’t resist this one.

Sphynx Couture caters to fur-challenged cats and feline fashionistas. The designs range from practical to whimsical.


KCE knits crafts custom-ordered wool cat caves in yummy colors and unique designs that will appeal to any burrowing kitty.

    Oh my goodness.. I love the cat caves.. I think I saw the cat fur jewelry on Cats 101 before. The fez hat made me giggle so did the crocheted toast.. Love it! I will be sharing.. =^..^=
