most popular cat names of 2012

Can you guess what the ten most popular cat names of 2012 were?

  1. Bella
  2. Max
  3. Chloe
  4. Oliver
  5. Lucy
  6. Smoky
  7. Shadow
  8. Tiger
  9. Charlie

Bella, Charlie and Max were popular not only with cat owners, but also with dog and bird owners. Interestingly, each of the top five dog and cat names were also among Babycenter.com’s 100 most popular baby names of 2012. Makes sense, since for many of us, our cats are our kids.

But not all cats get human names. Wacky pet names are pawpular, and the top 10 wacky cat names in 2012 were:

  1. Pico de Gato
  2. Dingleberry
  3. Dumpster Kitty
  4. Schnickelfritz
  5. Koobenfarben
  6. Sassy Pants Huska
  7. Vincent Van Furrball
