All Aboard the Cat Café Train

You’re too late–it sold out immediately. Cat cafés are old hat in Japan, so one of the Gifu Prefecture’s most pawpular cafés, Sanctuary, has kicked the concept up a notch last weekend, offering the purrfect combo of kitty-time and a ride on the rails.

The maiden voyage included a bento box lunch, sweets, a ticket available for travel all day, and as many as cats you could snorgle, all for the bargain price of $27.

Just like at Sanctuary’s permanent cafes, all the animals aboard the train were rescue cats.  No word on whether there was a station cat taking tickets when they boarded.

  1. OK – so the last time the mom was on a train she got motion sick, but this might be worth it
