Archie? He’s Named After Meghan’s Cat

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son was born, there was the usual speculation over what he would be named. You assume it’ll be a name pulled from the annals of British history. But they named him after Meghan’s cat.

Yep, her childhood cat was named Archie.

The cat was adored by both her and her mother, Doria Ragland.

A childhood friend said, “Doria rescued Archie and he became an important part of the household. Meghan loved playing with him and she was always talking about him to her friends. It’s no surprise she named her new baby Archie. She loved that cat.”

The cat may have been named after the vintage Archie comic books she cherished. She loves her Archies.

That is actually so endearing, and down to earth— though we felines are really anything but. I am so pleased they didnt have a dog though, and named it FIDO! MOL
