Cat ladies have been the butt of countless jokes over the years for our nutty single-minded devotion to our purry furry friends. Finally there’s a book that documents the crazy lengths non-cat owners go to to commemorate the special bond they share with their pets.
The book, Awkward Family Pet Photos, is a sequel to the NY Times bestseller Awkward Family Photos. Creators Mike Bender and Doug Chernack could not help but notice that more than a few pets were portrayed in the submissions to the Awkward Family Photos website, and subsequently launched the Awkward Family Pet Photos website to celebrate the awkwardness we share when we’re head-over-heels in love with our pets.

Suddenly, cat ladies aren’t lookin’ so crazy, eh?
If you’ll thumb to pages 62-63, you’ll see my own contribution to the book, which honestly, is far less awkward than any of the other photos in the book and simply documents my parents’ unerring ability to snap photos while every single subject in the photo is looking away from the camera.
This week we’ll be giving away a copy, so check back for giveaway details!
