Bonnie Prince Charlie: Cat Guy

In the Lady Diana days, I was in the anti-Charles camp. Most were. But over the years, my Charles-stance has softened up. Not just because he was brave enough to step out in front of paparazzi in floral swim trunks but because he’s a passionate advocate of the environment and he is anti-global-warming. Also, as a rabid The Crown watcher, I began to understand some of the issues he had growing up a member of the royal family.

So why my post? Because this week he was spotted visibly excited about spotting Quita, a therapy-cat-in-training and immediately turned and walked over to pet the moggy. Look at the expression of delight on his face!

You can’t fake that!

Unfortunately, you can only view the video on Instagram. Take a look.

And while we’re on the topic of the royals, take a peek at Prince Harry and Duchess Megan introducing the new feline member of their household:

They get bonus points for adopting a black cat!

  1. Even the Prince of Wales doesn’t often see a cat waiting for a handshake, so his surprise and delight was genuine! I have to agree that his reputation was pretty bad, but now I’ve learned more of what it was like for him growing up as a the-man-who-will-be-king…but as a boy…and then married to a crazy person who was not his true love. He’s not looking badly either; pretty spry for a man his age!

As another cat person, both those videos are wonderful! Thanks for sharing them !

What a true cat fan! This is why i try not to pass judgment too quickly, i really don’t know what another person’s pain might be that makes him/her that way.

Politics and marriages aside, the prince has had a strong commitment to the environment for many many years. The older and wiser he has become, the more it shines through. Great guy for stepping up and stroking our feline friend there.
Thanks for sharing as this one passed me by.
