The Eastside Inside Outside Cats

What could be sweeter than an adorable non-edible chocolate cat? Chocolate and his inside / outside family are from the blog dating site bios.

Funny Farmer Felines: Please introduce yourself and your human.

Chuck: My name is Chocolate, but everyone calls me Chuck, or Chucky. My humans are The Cat Mama and The Hubby.

Funny Farmer Felines: If you have any furry siblings, please introduce them too.

Chuck: Angel is my twin sister, although she has is black and white fur while mine is all black, with a tiny touch of white at my throat and one spot on my tummy. There are The ‘O’ Cats, which are Patty O’Malley and Sweetie; they live outside in insulated shelters and hang around the yard and sometimes look in the windows.

Funny Farmer Felines: How did you all come to live together?

Chucky: The brother of The Cat Mama mentioned that his co-worker’s cat had just had kittens, and they were looking for homes for them. The Cat Mama and The Hubby grabbed a cardboard box, and drove out to fetch us! On the way home, Angel crawled out of the box and up the driver’s side seat, and onto The Hubby’s shoulder. The Cat Mama held me, and noticed that I had ‘things’ crawling all over me! Both of us had fleas and worms, so our new humans got a crash course in de-bugging wee baby kittens. We’ve been bug-free ever since!

Funny Farmer Felines: Tell us a little about the area where you live.

Chuck: Eastside Cats is named because we live on the east-side of Metro Detroit, Michigan, near Lake St. Clair. Canada is on the other side of the lake! My humans did not have any pets before we came into their lives in 2004, but they knew to get two kitties to keep each other company. We live in the house that The Hubby grew up in, but we are never allowed into the basement, because he says it’s even too scary for humans.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you have any nicknames?

Chuck: The Chuckster, Chuckinator, BBC (Big Black Cat), Bonshwagli, Chucky Two-Butts.

Angel is called Cookie, B&W (Black and White), Pinky, Babydoll, and Bunny Rabbit. (The Hubby hates when Cat Mama calls her that, but she hops like a bunny sometimes!)

Patty is called Patus O’Mallus, Pedro, Tiger Cat.

Sweetie is Lady, Mamacita, or Mama-girl. Sweetie was pregnant with two kittens when she first appeared in our yard, but her baby-making days were over when she was humanely trapped and spayed. The Hubby tells any stray cat that is seen in the neighborhood, to watch out, the Cat Mama will trap you and neuter you!

Funny Farmer Felines: What kind of mischief do you like to get into, either separately or together?

Chuck: Angel and I tend to start fighting when we feel that the humans aren’t dishing up our meal fast enough! I really like to nap underneath stuff, so my humans have set up multiple chairs with blankets or sweaters draped across, so I can crawl up underneath and sleep in peace. I am also known for dragging wooly socks around the house.

Angel sings the song of our people in the early morning, and she chews on the edges and corners of any paperwork she finds. She also has a talent for finding cobwebs, and eating them!

Funny Farmer Felines: What made you open a blog?

Chuck: The Cat Mama started sending out emails to her family and friends, telling stories about our day-to-day antics, or those of The ‘O’ Cats or other ‘catty’ stuff that happened. People encouraged her to “write a book”; however, she discovered blogging a few years ago when she discovered William of Mass Destruction, The Way of Cats , and Pooplogs and Peeballs. She loves being a part of the animal-loving community online, and has made many great friends. There are two blogs of other kitties who live in Metro Detroit, Cat Chat with Caren and Cody and The Island Cats. Both are great blogs and we feel special that we can kinda rub shoulders with them.

Funny Farmer Felines: Are you on any social media you would like to share with readers?

Chuck: We are on Facebook as Eastside Cats.

dating after divorce meme.

Funny Farmer Felines: What is your greatest love and your biggest fear?

Chuck: I have a tired heart and funny intestines, so The Hubby gives me a gob of pills twice a day. The Cat Mama used to take me to a holistic veterinarian too, but everyone agreed that all the vet visits were stressing me out too much. My humans work hard to make sure that I eat enough (which means making sure Angel doesn’t eat it all!), and that I feel okay. I love The Hubby so much, even when he throws that glob of stuff down my throat.

The Cat Mama gets so emotional sometimes, that she gets banished from the house, since I can feel her thoughts! We all just want to be happy, so that is our goal at Eastside Cats: forget your troubles and get happy!

Angel is secretly in love with Patty O’Malley, but she doesn’t want anyone to know so she chases him every once in a while when she is allowed out on the front porch and he is chilling on the driveway. He always comes back!

Funny Farmer Felines: If we were to ask your mom what she loves best about you, what do you think she would say?

Chuck: Oh, that’s easy! It would be my silky, luscious black furs that she strokes and makes cooing noises at me. When I don’t feel well, I jump up while she is sleeping, and she always takes care of me, even if it’s just holding me in a soft embrace. When we drive to a vet’s appointment, she sings to me, and chatters away to keep me from worrying too much. I’ve also been known to crawl inside her winter coat, while she is still in it!

Funny Farmer Felines: Chuck and his sister Angel, along with Sweetie and Patty, can be found posting at dating site bios blog or on Facebook or Instagram.

  7. What a wonderful interview! I love following Eastside Cats. I didn’t know your “real” name was Chocolate, Chucky. And I loved learning about how you find ways to be mischievous. :=)

  8. Hello, Chuck, it’s lovely to meet you and to hear all about your family and life and surroundings. Basements sure can be terrifying places, but then so can the streets so stopping away from either is very sound advice. Your mom and dad sound just perfect, and clearly they have learned quickly the skills to be true cat people.
    Purrs, ERin

  9. What a great interview! We love the Eastside Cats and are happy to know even more about them! I agree, those basements in Michigan can be scary. My mom’s side of the family lives in Michigan, so I’m familiar with those basements. 🙂 Chucky, you are so adorable and very lucky to be with your humans!
