Larry the 10 Downing St Cat Gets Poor Purrformance Review

Larry, the 10 Downing St Cat who runs the UK, has found it difficult to find time to kill mice at the residence while he also runs the country.

This week at a dinner between the Prime Minister (aka Larry’s lackey), Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith, and other ministers, a mouse appeared and did a little tap dance on the dinner table.

The Prime Minister seems to be under the misconception that Larry’s primary role is to exterminate mice. When we asked Larry what he thought his duties were, Larry replied, “What’s this, a bloody purrformance review? Bugger off!”

The Prime Minister was asked if he thought that Larry should resign. The PM did not respond, but his spokesman stated, “Larry brings a lot of pleasure to a lot of people.”

At four years of age, Larry is in his peak hunting years. He was selected for the job due to his “high chase-drive and hunting instinct,” as evaluated by the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home from which he was adopted.

In June, the prime minister told the BBC that Larry was “a good mouser” and had caught three mice since his arrival.

Purrhaps his slacking off in the hunting department can be attributed to his focus on his new love interest, Maisie, who lives nearby at St James’ Park.
