Supervisor Trixie and Toy Tester Buster

Many of you already know Trixie and Buster. They do not have a blog, but they are Cat Scouts, and Cat Scouts do not remain anonymous for long. Gather around the campfire and prepare to become better acquainted.

Funny Farmer Felines: Please introduce yourselves and your human.

Trixie: My name is Trixie and I’m a Black & White Norwegian Forest Cat and the queen bee of the house.

Buster: My name is Buster and I’m a what you call a Domestic Shorthair and the cute one.

Trixie: Our Dad’s name is Jim and he’s retired; he’s kinda what you call an entrepeneur. He makes cat toys and for Christmas he donates some of his toys to the kitties at the local animal shelter. I think that’s great. Not every cat is as fortunate as we are in a forever home.

Funny Farmer Felines: How did you come to live together?

Trixie: Dad was looking for a companion kitty and a friend of his found me abandoned and was trying to find a forever home for me. Dad said he would take me in. When I arrived, all he saw was this cute black and white face peering from a pink blanket. As they say, it was love at first sight.

Buster: I was rescued from a home where the kids were mean to me and I was about to be tossed outside in winter. Dad said he’d take me in temporarily. I kinda grew on him and Trixie. Now we’re best of friends.

Funny Farmer Felines: Tell us a little about the area where you live.

Trixie: We live in a small town in Upstate NY, about 20 miles away from Cooperstown (Baseball capital of the world). What’s nice about it is Dad takes us out in a stroller for walks, as he’s afraid we’ll get squished by passing cars outside. You oughta see the looks he gets with me in a stroller. People think he’s pushing a baby stroller until they look inside.

Funny Farmer Felines: What kind of mischief do you relish?

Trixie: I don’t get into too much mischief anymore, I do like to play smackypaw and wrestle with Buster. My favorite thing is chasing Buster and pouncing on him when he least expects it.

Buster: I’m the mischievious one. I’m the one who’s always up to something. That’s how I got my name. My favorite means are waking up dad at 5 a.m. because I’m hungry, or pouncing on Trixie when I want to play. I’m also very sneaky and will run outside if not watched carefully.

Funny Farmer Felines: What prompted you each to join the Cat Scouts?

Trixie: We became Cat Scouts after hearing that Catster was on the verge of shutting down, which of course, didn’t happen. Dad found the site by accident. He thought it might be interesting for us to join. He signed me up first and I think Buster enrolled a few days later.

Funny Farmer Felines: What do you each enjoy most about the Cat Scouts?

Trixie: I like being a cat scout because I get to spend time with my friends and I get to go on many adventures. Last week we went to the Grand Canyon, which was a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to going on the next trip, wherever that may be.

Buster: I like Cat Scouts for many of the same reasons as Trixie. I also like the friendship that comes along with being a scout.

Funny Farmer Felines: We heard your dad makes catnip toys and sells them. Are you on the payroll as professionally experienced nip toy testers?

Trixie: I’m the supervisor. My job is to watch dad make the toys. He sews each one by hand and then stuffs each one full of catnip. I also enjoy sniffing the mason jars that he keeps the nip in.

Buster: I’m the tester. I’m the one who tries out the new products that he comes up with. If they meet my seal of approval, then then he can put it out for sale. Right now he’s working on stocking up on more mice. I know at least one is coming to us.

Funny Farmer Felines: If we were to ask your dad what he loves best about each of you, what do you think he would say?

Trixie: He loves me because I’m a big girl and Dad’s favorite lap kitty. I’m very lucky to have a dad who loves us unconditionally

Buster: Dad loves me for being me.I don’t think he’d want it any other way.

Funny Farmer Felines: Nip product testers. What a life!

Although both Trixie and Buster have separate Cat Scout accounts, they hang around together at Trixie’s Cat Scout account.

Their dad sells his cat toys locally but he will do mail order. You can email him ( ) for pricing and more details.
