The Story of Biscuit

feline-funny-farmer-friends Taylor

We have said every cat has a story, and we are pleased to introduce you to a senior kitty who contacted us and proved our theory is correct.

Funny Farmer Felines:  Please introduce yourself and your human.

Hi, I’m Biscuit and my human is Leslie.

Funny Farmer Felines: If you have any furry siblings, please introduce them too.

Biscuit: I do not have any fulltime siblings, but I have a brother, Nemo, who I see from time to time.  Nemo lives with The Man, who used to live with Mom.  Nemo was Mom’s rescue.

Funny Farmer Felines:  How did you come to live together?

Biscuit: It’s a long story.  I lived with a sweet woman named Lillia from the time I was about 6 months old up until about a year and a half ago.  Lillia went over the human Rainbow Bridge just about that time.  Lillia’s family tried to take care of me, but really couldn’t.  They could not take me to one of their homes, because they have prey dogs, which will chase anything that they see (which would be me), and they did not want to take me to a shelter, because who would want to adopt a 12 year old cat?

I was in Lillia’s apartment alone, with no furniture, just my litter box and my bed, A neighbor or one of Lillia’s family members came in to feed me once or twice a day.  One of Lillia’s children works with my mom and she posted a picture of me, asking if anyone wanted to adopt a cat.  My mom admits that she wasn’t ready, since she had just left my fur brother Nemo with The Man.  Mom’s other friend that she works with kind of talked Mom into it and Mom agreed to visit me that weekend.  It really was love at first sight.  She took me from that empty apartment that very day and it’s been so wonderful ever since!

Funny Farmer Felines:  Tell us a little about the area where you live.

Biscuit: We live in the Bay area of California, not too far from San Francisco, in a small and quiet town called Fremont.

Funny Farmer Felines:  Do you have any nicknames?

Biscuit: Mom calls me Mr. B or Long Boy after one of her favorite movies.   I don’t get it.  If you’re wondering why Lillia named me Biscuit, it’s because I am a flame Siamese, and kind of the color of toast, but toast sounded kind of silly, so I’m Biscuit.  That and Lillia was a southern gal, and in the south they have something called cat head biscuits (it’s not what you think) because they have big biscuits about the size of a cat’s head.

Funny Farmer Felines:  What kind of mischief do you like to get into?

Biscuit: My favorite thing to do is jump up on the kitchen counter (just my own little special place) and watch Mom.  I also love to wake her up just before her alarm goes off.  She can’t figure out how I do that.  Together, we love to go outside and walk to the big park we have just down the street.  Mom is a little crazy and has a stroller made just for cats.  I love it, I can smell all the good smells and watch all the birds, squirrels and people wondering what on earth is in that stroller

Funny Farmer Felines:  Do you belong to the Cat Scouts?

Biscuit: No, I’m not in the Cat Scouts.  If they had Cat Scouts back in the day, I would love to be one.

Funny Farmer Felines:  Are you on any social media you would like to share with readers?

Biscuit: I don’t have a blog.  Mom reads them to me all the time, especially yours. The only thing Mom and I do is send Lillia’s family, especially her grandkids, pictures of me so they can see how I’m doing and ask Mom questions so I can answer them.  I guess that’s kind of a blog.

Funny Farmer Felines:   What is your greatest love and your biggest fear?

Biscuit: My best love is cheese.  I love cheese.  It’s my special treat.  My biggest fear is Stranger Danger.  Because we live in an apartment, sometimes I’ll see someone walk past a window I am close to and think they are coming in the apartment.  I growl and run to Mom and warn her by butting her arm and then I run to the front door so I can attack them if they come in.  I’m proud to say that they never do come in.

Funny Farmer Felines:  Does your human foster any furbabies, work or volunteer for a shelter?

Biscuit: Mom does not foster any furbabies, but she does volunteer with an organization in the Bay area that works with developmentally disabled and handicapped kids by helping them ride rescued or donated horses to give the kids more stamina, and a great sense of accomplishment and pride.  Mom is one of the organizers and also a volunteer that runs beside the horse and its rider. (There are four people running with the horse and rider to protect and encourage the rider – one at the front, two at each side and one in the rear of each rider’s horse.) She says it’s better than going to the gym!

Funny Farmer Felines:  How would you describe yourself?

Biscuit: I’d say I’m pretty much an introvert.  As I said, I’m an older guy, so I really just kind of take it easy, spend time in the sun or when Mom’s home, snuggling with her and getting my pets.

Funny Farmer Felines:  If we were to ask your human mom what she loves best about you, what do you think she would say?

Biscuit: I guess Mom would say that coming home to me just makes her heart happy.  She also loves it when I brush her hair with my claws.  They’re not all the way out, just a teensy bit.  It makes her smile.  I like it because she puts something in her hair that I just love the smell of.  That’s why I do it!

Funny Farmer Felines: Biscuit doesn’t have a blog or his own social media, and he isn’t a member of the Cat Scouts, but even if he never joins any online activities, he has a story and we’re so glad he took the time to share it with us.
