Tidy Cats Direct Litter Box of the Future

Meet Tidy Cats Direct

The only thing worse than scooping cat litter is scrubbing out the box every week. It’s a crappy job, right?

Tidy Cats has addressed this problem by developing a disposable litter box system that’s delivered right to your doorstep. Easy peasy. Even better, when it gets to the point where you have to clean it out, you just toss the whole shebang in the trash.

Arrives on Your Doorstep, Pre-Filled

It ships right to your door, pre-filled with Tidy Cats LightWeight 24/7 Performance clumping litter—so it’s easy to take from doorstep to destination—and it sets up in seconds. Just open, scoop, toss and repeat.

I honestly don’t know that I’d replace one of my regular litter boxes with Tidy Cats Direct… it’s advertised to last a month with one cat, but with our four, we scrub out the boxes pretty much once a week, and I’m not wild about adding to landfill even more than we already do. But it’s an excellent solution for traveling with a cat or for those times when you need a temporary litter box solution, like when you’re visiting family with your cat or fostering extra felines for a short-term period.

Not Into Scrubbing Out the Litter Box?

It’s also an excellent choice when someone is catsitting for you and you know they’re not into the whole scrubbing-out-the-litterbox thing. They can toss the boxes when the boxes approach the stinky stage, eliminating the possibility that your cats will choose a carpeted corner to poop in because, without opposable thumbs, they can’t hold their noses and crap at the same time.

The boxes arrive completely self-contained. You peel open the top, fold it under (important, since you’ll use the top to close it off when you toss it), and it’s ready for the next shipoop storm!

And no, it’s not just litter in a cardboard Amazon box. The box is absolutely leak-proof!

Litter Stays in the Box

There’s a small lip around the top that keeps the litter inside the box. Handy if you have a cat like Tripper whose litter box antics leave the laundry porch looking like a helicopter rotor cut a swath through the box.

Dust Free

For those of you who are sensitive to litter dust, this might be nirvana. It’s pre-filled with Purina Tidy Cats lightweight 24/7 performance clumping litter which is 99.9% dust free, and since it’s pre-filled, you don’t get that dust cloud from pouring the litter into the box.

I used to buyTidy Cat litter in large plastic buckets for my four felines at BJ’s. I’d save the empty bucket to throw the dirty litter away in because I was at a lost as to what to do with two plastic buckets every week. Every week, as I changed the litter boxes I’d complain, “why don’t they change the shape of this darn bucket to a litterbox shape? Then I’d be tossing the same amount of plastic into the landfill but I wouldn’t be scrubbing the dirty box every week and replacing the boxes every six months. I suppose switching to recycled cardboard is a good idea but the litter companies are still selling those buckets full of litter which would be fairly easy to transform into a litterbox shape. Of course our darling Pumpkin doesn’t care about the shape of the bucket. If I walk away for a moment he’s happy to climb up and use the litter in the bucket it came in. Apparently he thinks I’m too slow cleaning out his box so he’ll use what’s available.
