Valentine and Zombie Squirrelygigs

feline-funny-farmer-friends Taylor

We are not well-acquainted with today’s interviewee from Noir Kitty Mews but perhaps you are. Still, there is more you can learn.

Funny Farmer Felines: Please introduce yourself and your human.

Valentine: Mew Mew hellos! I’m so humbled that you wish to interview me. My name is “Valentine” (pronounced like one of my fav holidays). I am a Persian and a chat noir. My furr-iends can call me Valentine or Val.

Kerry and David are my human Mom and Dad, my forever servants. I share the house with them and Bessie, a D-O-G – my minion.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you have any nicknames?

Valentine: Oh yes! I certainly do! Mom has several nicknames for me: Valenteen, Valentino, “V”, Valen, Valvatine, Wooly Bear (after the solid, black fuzzy caterpillars), Licorice Bit (after Mom’s fav chewy candies). Dad usually calls me Tino, Boppo, or doofus.

Funny Farmer Felines: What kind of mischief do you like to get into, either separately or together?

Valentine: Mischief? What do you mean by mischief? I never get into mischief… When I knock the humans’ “smartphones”, glass butter dish, hair comb, lens bottles, or my porcelain food dish off the counter, then it just means that my needs are not being met. But that is not “mischief.” Yes, I sit on the pizza box, open it up even, knock it off the counter, too, but these are all for good reasons (warming tummy, hungry, humans not paying me attention). Again, not in any way shape or form are these examples of “mischief.” True, I spear marshmallows out of the mallow bag or pull crackers out of the box with my paw, but a kitty has got to take advantage of every food opportunity that comes around.

Funny Farmer Felines: What made you open a blog?

Valentine: I started Noir Kitty Mews, a combined website/blog, because it just seemed like a fun thing to do – to create something that could spread a little joy through my words, images, and interests, and share a little bit of information for cat enthusiasts and owners, too. Besides, Mom was already snapping many, many photos of me!

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you participate in any blogging events?

Valentine: Thanks for asking. On Twitter, I am a ZombieSquad member #ZSHQ. Did you know that Zoms (zombies) come in all shapes, sizes and forms and you never know when one might pop up somewhere, anywhere? Yes, it’s true! Those three squirrels (I call them squirrelygigs) that come to my back door – ZOM, ZOM, ZOM! Blue birds – ZOMS! Black crawlies with eight legs – SPIDER ZOMS! My minion – possible ZOM (she is under close watch)! The Squad issues alerts, and protects inside and outside areas from the intruders, confronting them when deemed necessary. My good furr-iends CoCo, Thor, and Queen Peaches are part of the Squad.  (Oops, I mean Queen Zoe – my furr-iend from Twitter – is on the Zombie Squad with me, not Queen Peaches.)

Also, on Twitter, I recently went on my first #weetitravels adventure with Fluffy Basil, Hugo and the #weetigang as an official new member of that group. It was super fun! We climbed Mount Everest! Me and Catty Boy learned how to ski, thanks to Lucky, and I bathed in sun puddles on the beach! Some of my #weetigang furr-iends are also #ZSHQ members, too, like me.

I also recently joined the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop hosted by BlogPaws. This is where I post pictures on my blog on Wednesdays with links to other participating blogs so we can “network” with each other.

I have met wonderful new furr-iends through #ZSHQ, #weetigang and the Blog Hop! And I want to thank them for making me feel so welcome.

Funny Farmer Felines: Are you on any social media you would like to share with readers?

Valentine: Why sure! I am Valentine (@Noirkittymews) on Twitter. On Pinterest I am Valentine (noirkittymews). I use Valentine – NOIR KITTY MEWS (don’t forget the dash!) on Facebook. I share an Instagram account with my minion, so there I am … er, we are Valentine & Bessie (@noirkittymews).

Funny Farmer Felines: What is your greatest love and your biggest fear?

Valentine: I love L-O-V-E! I have been trying to court Miss Pip, my lovely next door neighbor, for several years. I’m still getting hisses from her, though, after all this time. What could I be doing wrong? I am also very smitten with Nuss and Queen Peaches; I met both on Twitter. I took Nuss and Queen Peaches out on a date on Valentine’s Day – just the 3 of us. I was so nervous, ‘cause they are so beautiful! And there is also Angel – I fancy her, too. And guess what? She eventually answered my paw note and said she would let me sit with her! It is all quite sweet and innocent – I am “fixed” after all. I do have a special heart for the lady cats, what can I say?! But I am very respectful and appreciative of each and every one of them. I have several good lady cat pals including SassyCassy, Moet, Mia Panfur, Dezi and Raena. Hi girls! (Blowing them kisses.)

My biggest fear… hmm… I am not a worrier and little scares me. But I do hate needles! I think the V-E-T “techs” are actually vampires ‘cause they always seem to want to sample my blood. But they don’t use teeth – they use needles! Aaa-aa!

Funny Farmer Felines: How would you describe yourself?

Valentine: Well, I am small, dark and handsome. My big round eyes are the color of pale yellow green gems. I always wear a full, solid color coat. If you look closely you might notice fine strands of white highlights here and there – marks of an older distinguished kitty.

An extrovert I am not. I am a quiet kitty for the most part and sweet natured. I say, “Mew Mew” when I speak, which is only on occasion. That is why “Mews” and “Mewsings” are used in my website/blog. I am very playful. (I roll upside down when I play with my feather toy, like a roly polly bug, Mom tells me.)

I am gentle, never aggressive, and never an instigator. I don’t make fusses and am not demanding of attention, but I love it when it is given to me! And I love, love, love belly rubs and head rubs from my humans, and warm lap nests, of course! Lounging around the house is one of my favorite pastimes and so is stalking squirrelygigs and birds at the back door.

Funny Farmer Felines: If we were to ask your mom what she loves best about you, what do you think she would say?

Valentine: Mom would say, “Everything!” fur sure! How could she not? I give her so much love. That is what I’m all about. I give L-O-V-E, for I am “Valentine.”

Thank you very very much, Funny Farmer Felines and Mousebreath, for showing interest in me (blushing). You are so kind. I hope I interviewed OK. If you or your readers would like to learn more about me and my adoption, please visit “My Story” on my blog. Purrs. Mew Mew!

Funny Farmer Felines: Thank you, Valentine. It’s been fun getting to know you. We know readers will stop by your blog Noir Kitty Mews and say hello.

  1. We loved learning more about Valentine! What a ladies man! And I’m thinking he and Bear Cat went to the same cat school … his definition of mischief is oddly similar to Bear’s 😉

  2. Catty Boy says:

Pawtastic interview! Ok, MAYBE a little biased because Valentine shares hims lady lines with ME and he made it sound like we actually learned how to Ski. I think Lucky may say falling and sliding down the hill on your belly, “Is Not The Way You Do It!” Nonetheless, there was lotsa GurlCats willing to fix our ouchies!

Great Blog and I can’t thank noir kitties mews for introducing us to your Blog!

    • Valentine says:

  6. An excellent interview with Valentine! Ladycats and lady humans must fall over for him, all of the time.

    • Valentine says:

Aww… that is sweet, thank you. Neighbor Pip doesn’t seem to care for me & I don’t think her sisfur does either. But there are other kitty fishes in the sea, right?

  7. :Loulou says:

Well, if ever there was an advertisement for a really neat new boyfriend, it was THIS one. Hey, Valentine, how do you feel about little black and white Tuxies with personality? Think we could do a few paw-steps together? My dance card is not yet filled up, you handsome devil!
    Love from Loulou

  8. It was nice to learn about you Valentine, you did a great interview with the Funny Farmers.

    • Valentine says:

      Gee thanks (blushing)!

    • Valentine says:

And I want to make a correction. I just noticed that my mom made a typo. Queen Zoe (my furr-iend from Twitter) is on the Zombie Squad with me, not Queen Peaches. Zoe is also a part of the #weetigang. So sorry Zoe for my human’s error! Hugs!

Thanks everpawdy for your kind comments! You are visiting a very fun blog as MOUTHBREATH Magazine with the Funny Farmer Felines! Thanks again to them for allowing me the opportunity to chat on one of their posts! Mew Mew!
