Winner of the Most Spoiled Cat in the World Title goes to…

choupette lagerfeld

… Choupette Lagerfeld, the cherished roommate of fashion designer and unbridled egomaniac Karl Lagerfeld.

Choupette (not to be confused with Chia Pette) is a long-haired, blue-eyed beauty of Siamese origin who has two purrsonal maids, an iPad (what cat doesn’t?), and meals en table because, according to KL, she doesn’t want to eat on the floor (what cat does?) Her food dishes are by Goyard. She has “one for water, one for her little croquette, and one for her pâté.”

She even has a personal journalist to document her every purr and help her with her pawpular Twitter page.

Choupette was featured in September’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar and is the star of a video promo of Lagerfeld’s new Karloflage line. Impressive resumé for a kitten who’s not yet a year old.

Sadly, Lagerfeld won’t be designing duds of his little diva. He doesn’t believe in dressing animals in clothes, calling it too “circus-like.” Too bad. We think she’d look fab in a powder blue Marie Antoinette gown.

And yes, we also think that some of the money he lavishes on Choupette might do more good if donated to a shelter.

I have a purrsonal maid! I thought every cat knew that’s what the hoomins are for. I don’t have an iPad though.

  2. Fisher says:

I have two cats here reading over my shoulder and they want to know when her book will be out! Right. As if these things would happen to them. Great post! (I love the ‘not to be confused with Chia pet’ – still laughing.)

  3. Maxwell: DOOD. It grows obvious that I’m seriously underrepresented over here.

  4. Chilli Cat says:

Beautiful cat. So why do Chanel still test their cosmetics on animals?
