Karen Nichols is a Pet Industry Influencer, Publisher and Multimedia Designer in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has over 25 years of experience in the Internet Industry as a user experience analyst and user interface and interaction design consultant. She's blogged professionally since 2004, and is a respected expert in social media, web analytics, online branding and Wordpress design and development. She's a popular speaker at pet industry conferences. Her work has been recognized by the Cat Writer's Association, including being awarded the coveted Kuykendal Medal for outstanding achievement in illustration, and multiple muse medallions for visual art and writing. She's won multiple BlogPaws social media awards for Best Cat Blog, Best video, and Best Blog Design. She was one of seven finalists in the national Purina Cat Chow Correspondent search, which lead to being a spokesperson for several Purina brands. Karen's current obsession is Cat Scouts. She authored and illustrated the "Cat Scout Handbook," and is currently in the midst of production of a stop-motion animated Cat Scout movie. She is represented by the Rita Rosenkranz Agency in NYC. Karen is a member of the Cat Writer's Association, Women in the Pet Industry, the IAABC, The Interactive Design Association and the East Bay Multimedia Association.
