Photographer David Williams captures images of men who identify with cats. His project titled Men & Cats began in 2009 as a way to break the stereotype of the “crazy cat lady.” Williams photographs cat guys in their homes and on the street.

The indoor scenes feature cat-related tchotchkes and art that leave little doubt that these are Crazy Cat Guys. “I wanted to show that regardless of gender, many people have found the joy that cat companionship can bring,” Williams tells Time Out New York. You can view the portfolio of cat guy photos at, or even better, buy his photo book, Men With Cats: Intimate Portraits of Feline Friendship, a New York Times bestseller.

  1. I’ve not seen this book, but maybe that is because I am in the UK? Still it sounds like it will be a great little book to have to show that within men there beats a feline heart as strong as any crazy cat lady—which I have to say is a phrase I really detest. . . .
