It’s a pleasure to have our Swedish friend Kjelle from the blog Kjelle Bus AKA Charlie Rascals Destinies and Adventures with us today. Some of you might know him as Charlie Rascals. By either name, he is an object of infatuation – a heartthrob. He is unattached – has no steady girlfriend.
Kjelle is “furry good on doing laundry – I wash my mousies. I do a high-five for treats and I love to ride in mom’s car.” He speaks English with a bit of an accent, but we don’t – and you shouldn’t – have any trouble following him. Would you like to learn more? Then let’s begin the interview.
Funny Farmer Felines: Would you introduce yourself and your mom and dad to everyone?
Kjelle: Well , I start with me. I’m an Cremepoint Sacred Birman male, or should I maybe say former male since I’m neutered? *mol* I love to sleep all day and play all night. I´m a little bit over 3 years old/young. My mom`s name is Camilla and she is working as a careassistant full time. She loves American cars (she have a Mustang GT ) and motorcycles (yes, she have a Harley Davidson). Mom and dad are often on Car meets in the summertime. Mom loves to go on Operas and she doesn’t say no to a heavymetal consert either. She love the cat blogosphere and have meet some of our blogpals from Sweden and they are all supernice easygoing people. My dad´s name is Tommy and he is kind of retired after a car accident a couple of years ago. He too love American cars and motorcycles. Unfortunately, he can not drive his motorcycle anymoore, but he can drive his car.
Funny Farmer Felines: You blog is not in English but there is a translate button in the upper right of your sidebar. You have a note there saying it doesn’t translate well. It is a bit slow, but your blog is worth the wait, so we hope you’ll get lots of visitors from this interview. Tell us a little about the country you live in.
Kjelle: Sweden is way up north and is the 5th largest country in Europe. It lives about 9.5 million people in Sweden. Our capitalcity is Stockholm and there lives about 1.4 million people so there is very crowded (I guess ?!). We have a Royal family in Sweden; their youngest daughter Princess Madeleine got married with an American recently. I think his name is Chris O’Neill.
No, it doesn’t run around Polar Bears on our streets, not even in the northern parts. We live in the southwest part of Sweden and have about 10 km to a beach and, yes, you can svim in the ocean in the summer without freezing to death. Sweden is a very long and narrow country. It´s 1527 km from Treriksröset in north to Smygehuk in the south. At the widest point is Sweden just 50 km wide.
Funny Farmer Felines: We understand Kjelle Bus wasn’t really your name. You actually were called Sherikaan, which is part of your long registered name. But you’re also known as Charlie Rascals. You’re not using an alias because you’re wanted by the police, are you? (Kidding. Don’t swat us.)
Kjelle: Shhhh, don’t blow my cover! *mol*
My registered name is S*Alzecas Sherikaan. The S stands for Sweden and Alzecas is my breeder’s breeding name. It was really my dad that started to call me Kjelle and then my mom added Bus. Kjelle is a rather common name if you are a human and 50+. The Swedish word Bus means that you are a rascal/frolicsome/playful. My mom came up with my English name when I got a lot of English speaking furriends and Charlie is almost the same name as Kjelle. I guess you can guess why she added Rascal.
Funny Farmer Felines: How did you come to live with your mom?
Kjelle: My mom saw my pretty face in an add on the Internet and told dad that there is the cat we shall have. So mom mailed my breeder and asked a lot of questions about me and my younger half sibblings. She called my breeder and then mom and dad drove down further south to meet me and my younger sibblings. I knew right away that mom was the purrfect mom so I sat next to her when they had coffee. They played both with me and my younger sibblings, but mom just wanted me.
The breeder thought that they should take a lot of photos on us, and go home and think about it, but dad said that mom already have made up her mind about me. Then he asked if we couldn’t take me with them home right away? “OK,” said the breeder, “do you have a PTU with you?” “Yes, we do!” mom replied. The breeder said, “Bring it in and let´s see what Sherikaan will do.”
They brought in the PTU and I immediately stepped into it and refused to get out again. So that settled the thing and I came home with them that day and I have never regret my choice.
Funny Farmer Felines: Is there a special ladycat in your life or are you playing the field?
Kjelle: When Katie´s mom Glogirly made a photo of me and Katie for PR for the Valentines Ball, even though we were chaperoned by Katie’s boyfriend, all the Swedish catladies were very upset, so it was then I chose to just play the field.
Funny Farmer Felines: Your mom used to think you are weird because you would put your mice in your litter box when you were done playing with them. Do you still do that? What would you do if you met a real mouse? Or perhaps you already have met one?
Kjelle: Yes, I still put toys in my litterbox now and then, and, yes, I have met a real mouse. What I did with him? I put him in the litterbox, of course!
Funny Farmer Felines: What is your favorite treat …. toy?
Kjelle: My favorite treat are Dreamie´s with chickhen flavour. My favorite toy is my big fat rat from IKEA.
Funny Farmer Felines: Every kitty likes to get into mischief.. What kind of mischief do you get into?
Kjelle: I break into the livingroom at night and rumbles around in there.
Funny Farmer Felines: Do you belong to any blogging clubs or groups? And does your mom help you participate in any of the blogging events, such as Talk like a pirate day, LiveStrong, Box Day, etc?
Kjelle: I’m a member in the TCC (Tabby Cat Club) and I´m a member in The Naughty Kitty Club.
My mom is helping me to participate in some of all the blogging events out there. I participated in LiveStrong Day last year and I think I participated in Box Day too. We try to participate in most events on TCC, but sometimes there isn’t enough time for efurrything.
Funny Farmer Felines: Do you have any special plans for the future of your blog?
Kjelle: No special plans for the future of my blog right now. But you never know, do you?
Funny Farmer Felines: What do you like and dislike about blogging?
Kjelle: What I like most about blogging is all the nice cats and people you meet and, yes, there are some nice Woofies out there too.
I dislike most that my mom is working fulltime and have not enough time to help me with the blogging and visiting all my friends.
Funny Farmer Felines: You have been blogging since 2010. What advice would you give to anyone just starting a blog?
Kjelle: My advice to anyone that just started to blog is to visit other bloggers and leave comments so other bloggers knows you out there. If you find one Pet-blogg, you always can find moore if you read the comments on the blog you find and then pay them a visit too. Join a club or two, participate in different events and bloghops and soon you have a whole bunch of new furriends.
Funny Farmer Felines: Very good advice for finding new friends, Kjelle. It’s been such fun to have you visit and not only tell us a little about yourself but also about your country. It sounds like a lovely place to live and it must be great fun to be popular with the Swedish ladycats.
American cats admire you too. In case you didn’t notice, when you weren’t looking, our Cyndi has been surreptitiously giving her coat an extra lick and fluff.
If you haven’t met Kjelle, do go by to meet him. You can follow his adventures on his blog Kjelle Bus AKA Charlie Rascals Destinies and Adventures. (When it loads, choose your language in the Google translate button in the upper right sidebar.)
