Pawesome Felines Charlie, Amber, Max and Ava

Today we are interviewing Charlie, Amber, Max and Ava, the feline family so pawesome, they added an “e” to their name so readers realize they stand out from the pawsome crowd. Yes, they are from the Pawesome Cats blog.

Funny Farmer Felines: Please introduce yourselves and your human.

Charlie: I’m tabby and white with long fluffy fur and I love to talk, day and night. My human also says I’m photogenic whatever that means; I think it has something to do with the camera she keeps shoving in my face. Maybe I have a future as a kitty model?

Amber: I’m the baby of the family, although I’m only five months younger than everyone else. My human adopted me based on my photo and paid for my airfare so I could live with her. I’m also Charlie’s favourite girl – he kisses me all the time. He must like redheads.

Max: I’m a silver tabby with soft fur and curly whiskers, which I’m actually quite proud of. I also have prominent dark stripes on my legs. Charlie is my brother, but I’m the athlete in the family and my favourite things are to run and play.

Ava: Two brothers, how lucky can a girl be? Thankfully, Amber came along and now there are two of us girls. I’m a fluffy tabby, and my human says I’m just like Charlie but less demanding. You can’t get a word in with Charlie around anyway!

Funny Farmer Felines: How did you come to live together?

Charlie: Just before Christmas in 2011, the human decided she’d like to foster kittens and help them find loving permanent homes. She FAILED big time! By the end of January 2012, the paperwork was completed; adoption fees paid and we found our forever home. Amber came later.

Max: Charlie got really sick when we were babies and the human nursed him back from near death, I think this helped create a lasting bond. He’s still the favourite!

Ava: I’m cute and funny, and it was my kitten antics that helped us all find our forever home. The boys really should thank me.

Amber: The human wanted a ginger girl and I was born at the right time. In fact, in April 2012 there were only two ginger girls in the entire State. The one-hour plane ride was a little bumpy and the cage was too big, but I was so excited to see my new human at the airport that I squealed the entire way home in the car.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you have any nicknames?

Charlie: Most of the time, I get called Charlie Bear or Charlie Brown. Sometimes the human calls me Cheeky Charlie or Chub-a-Lub, although I have lost a little weight.

Max: The human calls me Maxie. I’m not a girl! Originally, my name was Smokey but I didn’t answer to that, so I got a new name. Max means the greatest. You can’t do better than that.

Ava: I just get called Ava or sometimes Sweet Ava. The human says it’s ‘cause I have a sweet and placid personality.

Amber: Pumpkin!! Not only does the human put that orange stuff in my food for hairball prevention, she gave me a nickname based on a root vegetable. Why can’t I be Sweet Amber?

Funny Farmer Felines: Tell us a little about the area where you live.

Max: It’s really hot here in summer. But we get to play ice-cube hockey on the kitchen floor, which is awesome fun.

Charlie: We have an enclosed garden and we’re all trained to walk on a harness and leash. There are birds in the trees to watch, lizards to stalk and butterflies to chase. Often though, I’ll just flop and relax.

Amber: We sometimes get cockroaches inside the house. I am super fast at catching them and I leave the legs for the human – it’s called a present! She really should learn not to be so ungrateful.

Ava: The human built us a glass walled sunroom and it’s the best place to watch bird TV.

Funny Farmer Felines: What kind of mischief do you prefer?

Charlie: I’m a little (okay, a lot) obsessed with food, so most of my mischief making is food related – jumping on the counter when I shouldn’t, stealing food from plates when the human isn’t looking. Typical greedy cat stuff really.

Amber: You say mischief, I say gift. I’ll never understand why the human doesn’t like the cockroach legs I leave in her slippers.

Max: I know I shouldn’t but I can’t help myself. I like chasing Amber and annoying her until she hisses and spits at me.

Ava: I never get into mischief! I’m not joking, I really am a very good girl.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you participate in any blogging events or belong to any groups or clubs?

Charlie: The human is fairly active in the BlogPaws Community and she has left me twice now to go to their annual conference, first in Las Vegas then in Nashville. She’d better not be thinking about Phoenix in June 2016.

Ava: The human also spends far too much time on the computer when she should be playing with me. I’ll continue to work with her on better time management.

Funny Farmer Felines: How long have you been blogging and what made you begin?

Ava: I’m the ideas girl, so it all began with me. The human is now well trained and blogs twice a week, or sometimes more.

Charlie: I started to feel neglected in October 2013, when the blog launched, and the first few months were hard. The human needs to understand her priorities and remember it’s all about me.

Max: A healthy obsession with cats – that’s what started it all.

Amber: Thanks to the blog, we now have an Instagram account. Online dating isn’t just for humans you know. Eligible boy cats are invited to stop by and say hello.
