My frends, I have vary sad news. The most famous-est cat writer of all time, Lilian Jackson Braun, dide this week at the age of 97 (I think that’s in people years, not cat years).
She lived a vary intristing life and she adored meezers. The stars of all her books were two Siameses by the names of Koko and Yum Yum. They were private detektive cats who helped thare cat guy, James Qwilleran, solve a bunch of merder misteries.
She rote her ferst book, The Cat Who Could Read Backwards in 1966.
Then she rote two more. They were vary pawpular books. (Well, how could they not be?) But after her ferst three books, she took a brake for 18 yeers. In the meentime, she worked as the “Good Living” editor at the Detroit Free Press for 30 years, retiring in 1978. After that, it was back to the “Cat Who…” books. Altogether she rote 30 of the cat novels about Koko and Yum Yum.
I can’t tell you much about her private life cuz she kept it private. She was klassy that way, not like the Kardashiuns or Paris Hilton. She was eezily rekugnizable with a sleek chignon and Edith Head glasses.
Ms. Braun, I’m glad you are finely back together will all yer cat frends who went before.
