Sweet and Spicy Peaches and Paprika

Most of you are undoubtedly familiar with the popular human treat peaches and cream. Now meet the purrfect combination of sweet and spicy sisters from the blog Peaches and Paprika.

Funny Farmer Felines: Please introduce yourselves and Carol.

Peaches: Good morning, my name is Peaches. I am a tiger Calico, and I am 5 years old. My colors are grey and black stripes, orange with a white vest. Carol is our human and our hostess! She does a pretty good job of feeding us but could do better. (I.e., I’d like MORE food!)

Paprika: I’m Paprika (Peaches’ sister) but was formerly called Tigger. I like Paprika better because I think of myself as having a spicy personality. Even though I can be shy. I let my sister boss me around too much but she DOES give me great ear-washes. I am a combination of tiger-calico and tortoise. I have a lovely orange vest!

Funny Farmer Felines: How did you come to live together?

Peaches and Paprika: We have no choice, we are sisFurs!! For better or worse. We were born in the Bronx and almost got separated at a NY kill shelter but at the last minute we were “rescued” and got to stay together. And we got lucky because Carol fell in love with us both! We like to wrestle and throw each other on the ground but often fall asleep together afterwards.

Funny Farmer Felines: Tell us a little about the area where you live.

Peaches: Outside there a lot of green things..grass, trees and all kinda stuff. We live in a very nice condo in Connecticut and we heard there is a lake nearby which we never get to see because we are indoors only, alas. We can see wonderful flying creatures from a large glass door. They are called birds. We have never caught one, though. Once we saw a real mouse. But we couldn’t catch it either. Our hostess Carol had to catch it which was a great disappointment because she took it away from us.

Paprika: Peaches you’re leaving out important stuff. The main important thing about our home is that I can run through it at “warp” speed and catapult myself onto high places.

Funny Farmer Felines: Your favorite types of mischief?

Paprika: Mischief is my my favorite activity. I loooove jumping onto doors, balancing on the tops and looking down at my hostess Carol and my stuck up sister Peaches. Carol looks terribly worried when I’m up there but I know what I’m doing.

Peaches: Paprika is a pain in the neck with all that door climbing. I prefer to take it easy. I’m charming enough without having to act like a childish kitten and jump on moving doors! My only mischief is harassing Paprika trying to steal her breakfast which I’m good at. But she deserves it, that little shrimp!

Funny Farmer Felines: You are new to blogging, but you dived right in with fun graphics and pictures … and cattitude. What motivated you to open a blog?

Peaches: If you’ve got it, flaunt it, I say! When I see that camera, well, I give it my best, tilting my head and showing all my finer points, such as my fluffy white tummy. So far I do not charge admission for this.

Paprika: Peaches is stuck up. I have no “cattitude” personally, I am “au natural”. When I see the camera, I look the other way. This drives Carol crazy. But I seem to keep showing up in her blog.

Funny Farmer Felines: Your mom takes great photos of you two. Do you enjoy wearing hats and dressing up for special events?

Peaches: I enjoy dressing up and looking my best for all special occasions. If a hat helps, I’m all for it.

Paprika: I HATE those hat things. I’m a “naturalist”. We shouldn’t have to wear one when we have beautiful furs.

Funny Farmer Felines: Tell us a little about your mom’s job. We understand she is involved with a cable TV cat show.

Peaches: SHE SAYS it will help people understand other kitties and know more about them. One important thing we know about it is that she pays less attention to US when she’s working on it. We have no choice but to go along with it.

She said she has a segment on “therapy cats”, fat cats and “reiki for cats”. Now Reiki I can relate to. I had 3 reiki sessions when Carol was perplexed about some of my interesting behaviors. I love “the glow”. Go Reiki!

Paprika: We look forward to Carol finishing these time consuming activities!

Funny Farmer Felines: If we were to ask Carol what she loves best about each of you, what do you think she would say?

Peaches: She loooves it when I greet her every night when she comes home from work. I let her know her arrival is the most important event of my day. I kiss her and sit on her lap for about 5 minutes. Then it’s onto other things.

Paprika: Carol likes that I am such a loving little cat and curl up with her almost every night. I can be shy (when I’m not jumping around and playing) but when it’s cuddle time, Carol enjoys my falling asleep on her shoulder.

Funny Farmer Felines: We can all use a little sweet and spicy to liven up the day, so drop by the blog Peaches and Paprika to say hello.
