Tribe of Five at Feline Opines

feline-funny-farmer-friends Taylor

We met some new kitties this week from the blog Feline Opines.  Many of you already know them, but perhaps you will learn a little more today.

Funny Farmer Felines: Please introduce yourself and your human.

Tucker: Hi, there, Tucker the Alpha here. We are collectively called “The Tribe of Five” and there are (you guessed it) 5 of us. The female human is a writer and a blogger and the male human is something they call a programmer; I have no idea what that means but he spends a lot of time with his face in the computer.

Funny Farmer Felines: If you have any furry siblings, please introduce them too.  Tucker

Tucker: My sister Jasmine and I are the oldest (14). I fell into the role as Alpha when the female Alpha of our tribe crossed the rainbow bridge. I am a handsome guy if I do say so myself even if my eyes are crossed (the female human says it just adds to my charms).

Jasmine is very pretty and a bit of a diva. The humans have yet to figure out what Lily’s heritage is. I can tell you she has unusual round eyes. Oliver and Alberto are the “foster” brothers who are about a year and a half. Alberto’s full name is Alberto Contador (named after a famous Spanish cyclist) because he’s a lean, mean feline machine. Oliver was the runt and was so tiny and always seemed hungry so the female human dubbed him Oliver Twist. Oliver now is not so little and not so thin.

Funny Farmer Felines: How did you all come to live together?

Tucker: My sister Jasmine and I were adopted from a lady that rescued our momma and our siblings. Lily came from the shelter where we live now, as did Alberto and Oliver. Jasmine and I were moved from our home in sunny California but Lily, Alberto and Oliver all were born in our new town.

Funny Farmer Felines: Tell us a little about the area where you live.

TuckerAndWoodlandFriendTucker: We live in Northern Idaho and our house has huge windows all through. We’re built in a hill in the woods and that means we get to see all sorts of wildlife. The female humans feed the birds and squirrels on the upstairs deck and even the raccoons (and their babies in the spring). We see deer in the ravine and have even had several bears come visit. We love to sit downstairs and watch all our woodland friends walk by.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you have any nicknames?

Tucker: Hmmmm, well, I have a silly one. The female human texted the male human about me and she didn’t check the spelling so my name came out itukJ. Now they often refer to me as Itukj (pronounced I-Tuck-Jay); Jasmine is called Jazzy Girl. Lily is a love-bug so her nickname is Bug. Alberto is sometimes called Al and the female human calls our rotund little Oliver her Chunky Monkey.

Funny Farmer Felines: What kind of mischief do you like to get into, either separately or together?

Tucker: I am stealthy and love to sneak around and “help” the other cats finish their wet food. I also love to walk around the house and sing the song of my people in the middle of the night. Jasmine evidently believes she’s some sort of a hairdresser as she’s always running her claws through the female human’s hair while she sleeps. Lily loves to burrow under covers and blankets and she’s managed to give some of our guests quite a fright. Alberto likes to chew plastic and if the female human forgets to take the plastic off the fruit in the basket she’ll find fang marks in her apples. Oliver loves to jump on the counter and supervise the female human when she’s cooking.

Funny Farmer Felines: What made you open a blog?

Tucker: About a year ago the female human had a story published in Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul. She had to start blogging to promote the book and she decided to have us help her, so she is now our purrrsonal assistant and writes the blog, Feline Opines, The Word From a Feline Point of View for us. We would type our opinions ourselves if we had opposable thumbs, but we have to dictate our opinions to her. The female human has been writing more about cats and she’s now in the middle of a novel with two cats as central characters who bear a striking resemblance to Oliver and Alberto.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you participate in any blogging events?

Tucker: We do a bi-monthly Linky party and we also love to hop into other blog events.

Funny Farmer Felines: Do you belong to the Cat Scouts, and if you do, what do you most enjoy about it?

Tucker: I must admit I didn’t know what the Cat Scouts were so I sent my purrrrsonal assistant over to check it out. She is in the process of learning about it and I suggested she have Oliver join as our chubby little guy could use some more activities.

Oliver: Oliver here, since I’m the only one enrolled in Cat Scouts (and newly enrolled). I don’t know much about it yet but I have to say the uniforms are purrrrfect. I’m having the female human get mine ready for me and can’t wait to show it off!

Funny Farmer Felines: Have you worked on or are you working on any special projects or badges in Cat Scouts?

Oliver: I don’t know about the badges yet but I can’t wait to find out. I’m sure my brother Alberto will be jealous and want to join too!

Funny Farmer Felines: Are you on any social media you would like to share with readers?

Tucker: It’s Tucker again. We are all over social media. Our twitter account is under our purrsonal assistance’s name (Anita4pets) and we’re also on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.

Funny Farmer Felines: What is your greatest love and your biggest fear?

Tucker: My greatest love is food and my humans (not necessarily in that order) and I can speak for all members of The Tribe of Five regarding our biggest fear; it’s the vacuum monster.  (And the doorbell freaks us out as well.)

Funny Farmer Felines: Does your human foster any furbabies, work or volunteer for a shelter, make pet-related products ….?

Tucker: The humans are great fans of our local shelter, Panhandle Animal Shelter. The female human teaches an entrepreneurial class in conjunction with our shelter and the charter high school and she and her sister founded and run a social media Facebook group to help people in our county find lost pets (Bonner County Critter Finders).

Funny Farmer Felines: How would you describe yourself? TribeOfFive

Tucker: I would feel remiss if I didn’t allow all the felines to chime in. so here are our descriptions. I an a Snoopervisor.

Jasmine: Diva in Residence.

Lily: Official Love Butt.

Alberto: Dog in a Cat Suit.

Oliver, Keeper of the Milk Carton Rings.

Funny Farmer Felines: If we were to ask your mom what she loves best about you, what do you think she would say?

Tucker: Again, each of us would like to opine about this. My purr and the way I snuggle.

Jasmine: The conversations I have with her. I’m not sure if she speaks cat but she always responds.

Lily: The way I always want to be in her downstairs office and how polite I am when I’m in there. (I don’t get into anything.)

Alberto: How I want to be with her or the male human no matter what they’re doing and how I follow them around – everywhere!

Oliver: My goofy way of dancing down the hallway to greet the female human every morning

Funny Farmer Felines: Is there anything we missed that would pertain to you?

Tucker: I mentioned to you that I have crossed-eyes and this has proven to be a bit dangerous for me – twice. The humans always felt safe to allow us out on the upstairs deck until I jumped on the railing and tried to swipe at a bird. The other time I fell asleep on the railing in the sun and fell over 30 feet down into the woodland ravine. The female human nearly had a heart attack and she now only allows us on the upstairs deck, the front porch, etc if we’re in a catio or with a harness and leash. I just want to remind folks who live with Siamese or Siamese mix felines that we often have vision issues.

Thanks for interviewing us, it was great to meet you!

Funny Farmer Felines: It was a pleasure to meet all of you from the blog Feline Opines.
